Key Takeaways from IMMAP Digicon 2016

AdSpark Team - 7 years ago

It’s already been a month since IMMAP’s highly anticipated Digital Congress themed The Power of X: Digital Multiplied. AdSpark had the opportunity to participate in their largest conference to date, drawing over 2,000 attendees, 1,700 delegates, and 161 speakers.

We learned a great deal about the future of digital marketing from the best speakers and industry leaders, allow us to share our 3 key takeaways from the summit:

  1. Content is King but the Customer Should be Kept at Heart

I’m pretty sure you’ve heard the phrase “content is king” a hundred times before and this makes sense now more than ever. We have seen great content spike significant interest and engagement. Just think Buzzfeed, Spot.ph, and When In Manila. Some of their works have even gone viral. So what’s the key to success? Aside from churning out best content that you could create, you should always keep the customer’s interest to heart. “It’s all about the consumers. Knowing what they want.“ said Ernest Cu, Globe Telecom President. Brands must definitely strive to provide high-quality content appealing enough to its target audience while promoting the brand at the same time

     2. Get To Know Your Customer

The key to delivering the best possible service and content to your customers is by knowing them as much as you can. Good thing digital has made this possible and utterly convenient thanks to analytics. Ashok Patro, VP – Analytics of ToTheNew, mentioned that analytics is your key for omnichannel success. Studying the engagement data of your content channels provide significant insights for your future content creation and distribution. How did your consumers react with your current content? What sites do they visit after yours? How do users interact with your app? Start looking at the rich analytics data that you have and get to know more about your customers

    3. Be a #DigitalBAE

Take it from the digital marketing guru and Chief Digital Marketing Officer of ABS-CBN, Donald Lim, when he wittingly uttered “Be a #DigitalBAE.Don’t be just a digital master or digital guru. Be first in digital Before Anyone Else”. He encourages marketers to never be afraid to try new things. We could all agree that competition is tougher than ever and gone are the days when it was all about increasing your social media followers. What’s your fresh perspective? How are you making your brand stand-out? Explore new technologies. Digital marketing is niche no more.
